Kapps Mountain Loge Trail - FUN RUN/WALK/HIKE

Date: Saturday 15 August 2026

Location:  Kapps Mountain Lodge and Venue 20km east of Windhoek.

From Windhoek: Follow the B6 towards Gobabis for 18km (+- 20 min) until you reach the police road block. Then turn left onto the M53. After 1.7 km (+- 2 min), turn left at Baboon gate. Follow the road signs for about 4 km (+- 8 min) to arrive at the Lodge

The drive takes approximately 30min

Distance may vary slightly as we may need to make minor modifications to routes.

The route

This is a trail run.  The route takes place on a combination of jeep track and single track. 

The route will be marked with bunting.  

The Race Organisers reserve the right to modify the route at short notice.

Registration/Collection of lucky draw numbers and Waves event cap.

Environment

No littering.

All containers and packaging must be carried and only disposed at bins/support areas.

In general please respect the environment.  We are making use of private property.

Safety

Participants need to assess for themselves (and /or minors) whether they are fit enough to take part.

All participants take part in the event at their own risk and indemnify the organisers, sponsors, host and other authorities of any loss or injury, however that loss or injury may be caused which might occur in preparation for, during or subsequent to the event and in any circumstances in which the organisers, sponsors and local and other authorities might attract a legal liability in respect of such injury or loss.

This is an off road event and participants must be aware that there are certain risks inherent in an off road events.  Some of the risks are mentioned below.  This is not a definitive list of all risk.  

The route is a combination of jeep track, cattle path and no paths.  There is loose gravel and stones and the surface is uneven.  Please walk or run with care to prevent injuries.  

For off road running it is recommended that you make use of trail running shoes, which provide greater support and traction.  Should you be injured please request your fellow runners/walkers to notify the next marshal on route so that arrangements can be made to get assistance to you.

Other possible dangers in a trail route include wild animals.

Water Tables

In trail runs/walks the participants are responsible for their own hydration.  This means you need to bring your own liquid along. 

We are aware that many people in Namibia may be new to trail running.  Consequently there will be one water table on each route/Distance. 

Enjoying your day at Kapps Mountain Lodge -There will be a farmers’ market.  Food/Drinks/Live Music/Beer on Tap.
